While not a permanent thing, they did recognize "Born in 1974" on the Heritage kit.

Though in general I tend to agree that I wish the club recognized it's past a bit more. I'm glad they don't completely ignore it but it does feel like there could be a bit more.

Four players selected in Stage 1 of 2019 MLS Re-Entry Process

Four players were selected in Stage One of the Re-Entry Process on Tuesday.

After trading up for the first pick earlier this offseason, Inter Miami CF selected left back Mikey Ambrose. The former Atlanta United player has appeared in 25 matches over his four-year MLS career. He notably started Atlanta's Eastern Conference Semifinal match against the Philadelphia Union. Miami sporting director Paul McDonough previously acquired Ambrose in Orlando and Atlanta.

Nashville SC moved up in the order earlier on Tuesday, trading their second-round pick in the 2022 SuperDraft to Vancouver Whitecaps FC to acquire the second pick. With the pick they selected defender Eric Miller, who has played with the Montreal Impact, Colorado Rapids, Minnesota United FC and New York City FC. A six-year veteran, Miller has made 115 appearances while playing both fullback spots. His option was declined by NYCFC following the season.

The last two picks are both likely to fill backup goalkeeping roles with the clubs. Sporting Kansas City selected Richard Sanchez while the New York Red Bulls picked up Kendall McIntosh.

Sanchez will compete with Eric Dick for the backup role behind Tim Melia. The former FC Dallas Homegrown has spent the last three seasons with Chicago Fire FC, most notably making 25 starts in 2018. McIntosh joins Ryan Meara among goalkeepers with the Red Bulls after the club declined Luis Robles' option. The 25-year-old was signed by the Portland Timbers prior to the 2017 season after impressing with T2 in the USL Championship. He has yet to make his MLS debut.

Clubs must exercise the option for, or extend a Bona Fide Offer to, all players selected in Stage One and may not select their own draft-eligible players. Players with option years left on their contract will automatically be added to the drafting club's roster. Should a player reject the offer, the drafting club will hold the Right of First Refusal for that player in MLS.

Is it any different than using a fake made up creature for your team name? I.e. Seahawks?

Personally it doesn't bother me. American sports have always been sort of weird in my eyes.

Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC will be in separate conferences for their debut season after the conference alignment was confirmed by the league for next year. Inter Miami join the East, while Nashville SC will compete in the West, ensuring both conferences will feature 13 clubs.

Each club will continue to play a 34-game regular season with 17 home matches and 17 away matches. Every team will play their 12 intra-conference opponents twice – once home and once away for a total of 24 matches – with the other 10 regular-season matches coming against the opposite conference. Those inter-conference opponents will be revealed with the full 2020 schedule release.
