Is this the year we finally win this ever elusive competition? On paper, we seem to have a strong enough team to do it. It's time to put or shut up!
Players to know:
Roberto Moreira: The 34-year-old Paraguayan forward has enjoyed a ton of success since joining Motagua from the Argentine first division in 2018. He has 54 goals in 131 appearances.
Juan Delgado: The 29-year-old midfielder is in his second year with Motagua after spending his first seven seasons as a professional with fellow Liga Nacional side Honduras Progreso. The Honduran international has four caps for Los Catrachos, including a start in a 3-0 loss to the United States in 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying on Feb. 2.
Denil Maldonado: The 23-year-old center back rejoined Motagua on Feb. 8 after going out on loan to Mexico’s Pachuca and Chile’s Everton. The young defender has a bright international future, with 13 caps already including seven during this most recent World Cup Qualifying window. Like Delgado, he started for Honduras against the United States on Feb. 2.
FC Motagua are 5 games into their season. They're sitting on a 2W-2D-1L record. Their last match was on the 12th, and their next match is on the 20th, so they should be starting their best possible lineup i would think.
I don't know anything about their players, so here's a copy/pasta from the Sounders website:

Seattle are, Seattle. They're pretty much what you expect. We made no significant upgrades in the offseason, as per usual. We'll see how Rusnak pans out. Our biggest loss was O'Neil, which really is whatever since we still have Arreaga and Yeimar. I didn't watch any preseason, so i have no idea about formation or form or anything really. But excuses are for losers who don't win trophies. If we want to be considered "elite", we need to go out and get results. Time to put up or shut up.
