So Inter Beckham Soccer (IBS) is bringing in Messi, Hazard, Busquets, and Alba? And this is all within established league regulations and procedures--no loopholes, exceptions, or "fudging" of things? Uhhhh sorry but I'm not buying it. When something smells fishy, there is a rotten fish nearby (or a dog with bad teeth).
So we are to believe that IBS had league "discovery rights" on all these dudes? And we are to believe their full compensation packages fall within the roster rules and regulations? We are supposed to believe IBS won't be found to have violated financial rules (yet again) in a year or two? SMDH
IBS was fined $2M in 2021 for breaking the roster rules. LA Galaxy was fined $1M in 2022 for breaking roster rules in 2019.
The way I see it, IBS should just go out and get 11 Designated Players and treat the fine like a luxury tax. Have Messi pay for it, the fine is less than what he makes in a week and in turn he can relive the glory Barca days with all his buddies in Miami.
