Hey -just saw this thread thanks to airkeeper's recent post. I recently watched Maradona, Blessed Dream (how to do italics?), on amazon prime, where it is rated 4 of 5 stars, FWIW.

It was a series of 10 episodes, each lasting one hour. I enjoyed it for the most part but pwnbably would have enjoyed it more if it had been edited down to three or four hours of content. There was a little too much repitition and many scenes that were dranw out too long for me, all played for dramiatic effect. Still, there were many good scenes and it was a comprehensive catalog of his career from youth through professional and national team experience.

But no question, the man could ball and the man could party - one of the greats of all time in both categories.

Even if you aren’t a fan of the club, the AoN series are all great.

It's been awhile, so I thought I'd update with some new(er) titles. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few docs or docuseries...

On Prime, there is a new season of ALL OR NOTHING which follows the German national team at the last men's World Cup. There is also GOOD RIVALS which chronicles the USA-MEX rivalry in men's international soccer. WE ARE NEWCASTLE UNITED seemed like a pure PR move trying to sell folks on the notion that the Saudi state investment fund (or whatever the f) is totally fine and good for everyone--and there is some footy footage too; it was meh to me.

Of course, the second season of WELCOME TO WREXHAM is underway and available on Hulu (along with season one, duh). I generally enjoy the series because of the people of Wrexham and their connection to the club. It's a well done series, I think.

The big one folks are talking about is the docuseries BECKHAM on Netflix. I watched the first three episodes last night because I couldn't sleep but enjoyed the wide range of interviews (especially SAF, Figo, and the ManUtd reception since 1968 whose name I cannot recall haha) and was pleasantly surprised by how much footy footage, how football focused it is.

Apparently there is some new Messi in America docuseries on Apple+. I usually watch nearly anything footy related, but I give so few sh*ts about this one that I'd make a constipated person seem regular (sorry I'm exhausted and can't come up with anything clever). I wonder how they'll silver-lining or sugar-coat how the GOAT couldn't make the playoffs "."
