I disagree solely because of where RBW was slotted in--attacking role on the right side where he rarely if ever plays. Schmetzer's decision after the sending off suggests to me that he was unprepared for such a scenario. It also suggests that he may have been planning sub off Nouhou who was on a yellow but then was like "f*ck it just throw the kid into a position he doesn't play because I didn't warm anyone else up." Even if Schmetzer would have shuffled guys around to fit RBW somewhere he actually plays, I wouldn't be as irritated and, moreso, flummoxed by the move.

I think he's more naturally a right-sided player and gets put on the left due to a dearth of options. On the other hand, it doesn't really matter because he's bad.

I'm usually hesitant to blame Schmetzer because he's almost always trying to make the best of a bad situation with a poorly constructed roster. Vargas was an absolute idiot. You can say it was a soft second yellow, but . . . if you've already been cautioned, don't shove guys in the back, and don't wildly gesticulate and yell when you get called for a foul that could be seen from space. PDLV was gassed and Schmetz has a couple of minutes at most to try to decide how to salvage something. Considering we didn't give up a goal and actually created some short-handed chances, I think he did well.

The tifo art was...lacking in my opinion. Not the best work and took me a while to figure out the message. If you're going to make fun of Portland's tifos then you'd better make sure it's higher quality.
